Sandy

Sandy has lived outside Morton for 10 years with her partner Ron. She has 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Now retired, Sandy was formerly a musician playing the contrabassoon for the Denver Symphony as well as a a baritone saxophonist in a jazz band. After leaving her live music career, Sandy learned instrument repair at Spokane Community College before being hired by Kortens in Longview where she worked for 10 years.


Sandy first learned to inline skate for recreation, eventually leading her to play inline hockey as a goalie. After learning inline, Sandy then began playing ice hockey as well. Sandy has been on two inline hockey and one ice hockey national championship team. More recently Sandy started playing in a women’s ice hockey league. She is currently taking a year off, but you may still see her substituting.


Being on the board of the Dignity Guild has been a exciting step forward for Sandy to be part of a team helping connect our communities together.
